Current Students

Approximately 2,000 students are enrolled in the Melbourne LLB, of whom 88% are studying law in combination with another degree.  Each year at Melbourne Law School we welcome students from all over the world, who contribute to the wonderful cultural mix in our academic and social life.  The Law School strongly encourages its students to undertake language studies and to consider exchange options at selected international universities, in order to experience a global education. The University has formal exchange agreements with more than 100 leading institutions in over 20 countries around the world.

LLB/Music Student

The University of Melbourne was my first preference for both law and music. I believe that the Melbourne Law School is one of the best in Australia; it has excellent teaching staff and facilities. Also, the Law Students Society organises a wide range of activities, from competitions and social activities to lunchtime tutorials.

I would encourage students (especially first years) to participate in LSS activities such as the Mooting and Witness Examination competitions, which are fun and complement the course.

I would also recommend the LLB Guest Speaker Forum – the wide range of speakers shed light on the diversity of career paths in law. Past speakers have included Public Advocate Julian Gardner and Fiona McLeay, General Counsel at World Vision.
