Subject Selection for 2008Online subject selection for Semester 2, 2008 will begin soon and will be through the Student Portal for the period Monday 14 July to Wednesday 6 August 2008. To do this you will need to: Step 1: Establish a University email account (if you don’t already have one) by visiting the following link: http://accounts.unimelb.edu.au/ This is crucial as the Melbourne Law School will use email to send you advice relating to your subject selection. Step 2: Obtain Course Planning information from the relevant internet address: Law http://undergraduate.law.unimelb.edu.au/go/current-students/subject-pages/index.cfm Arts & Creative Arts http://www.arts.unimelb.edu.au/currentstudents/programs/ Commerce http://www.ecom.unimelb.edu.au/students/undergrad/selection.html Computer Science http://www.eng.unimelb.edu.au/courses/ugrad/courseplanning/index.html Engineering http://www.eng.unimelb.edu.au/courses/ugrad/courseplanning/index.html Science http://www.science.unimelb.edu.au/current/ Please note that these sites also contain links to the University’s 2008 Course and Subject Handbook. In addition, you can schedule an appointment with a Law Student Advisor by contacting the Melbourne Law School Student Centre on 03 8344 4475. Step 3: Enter your subject selection on the Student Portal from 14 July to 6 August 2008. Any changes after Wednesday 6 August 2008 must be done manually in the Melbourne Law School Student Centre. No changes can be made after 5pm on Friday 8 August 2008. Alternatively, you must contact the Melbourne Law School Student Centre by Wednesday 14 July 2008 if you intend to discontinue or take Leave of Absence from your studies in Semester 2, 2008. Quota SubjectsStudents will need to manually apply for quota subjects for Semester 2, 2008 at the Melbourne Law School Student Centre. Quota subjects are as follows:
Final Semester of Offering for Compulsory and Quasi-Compulsory Subjects 2007-2011A table of the final semester of offer for these subjects is available here. *The Law School will offer alternative arrangements each semester to accommodate students who have failed a compulsory or quasi-compulsory subject being offered for the final time. This is subject to University Statute 11.5 Unsatisfactory Progress. Students are encouraged to make an appointment to speak with a student adviser in the Melbourne Law School Student Centre on the Mezzanine Level of the Melbourne Law School (Tel: +61 3 8344 4475 or email ugs@law.unimelb.edu.au) for advice on any matter that might impact upon normal course progression.
