International Applicants can download an International application form from the following website: http://www.futurestudents.unimelb.edu.au/int/index.html
The University's Admissions website also provides useful guides on the application process and the Selection Process.
Access Melbourne
The University of Melbourne encourages students in particular circumstances to apply for entry into its courses through Access Melbourne.
Students may be eligible to apply through Access Melbourne if they satisfy one or more of the following criteria:
- Indigenous Australians
- Experience difficult family circumstances
- Suffer hardship caused by socio-economic circumstances
- Have a disability/long-term illness
- Come from a non-English speaking background
- Have undertaken Year 12 at a Victorian School that is under-represented in the tertiary sector
- Have completed school in a rural or isolated area
Applicants also need to be a citizen of Australia or New Zealand, a permanent resident of Australia, or hold a permanent humanitarian visa. They must not have been awarded results in a degree course at a tertiary institution in Australia and they must have demonstrated the capacity to successfully undertake the course of their choice.
Access Melbourne replaces the Targeted Access Program (TAP). Some of the students accepted through Access Melbourne will also be awarded a scholarship. To be eligible for both selection and scholarship through this scheme students MUST:
- Submit an application through VTAC by 29 September 2006
- Submit the SEAS Access and Equity Application to VTAC by Friday 6 October 2006. Students need only submit one of these applications, even if they are applying for many courses taught at more than one institution
The Access Melbourne scheme incorporates the former Targeted Access Program and Aboriginal Entry Scheme. Find out more about Access Melbourne.

Community Access Program (CAP) and Complementary Course Applications
Community Access Program
The Community Access Program allows approved students who are not enrolled in a degree program at the University of Melbourne to enrol in subjects for interest. Subjects are taken on an upfront fees basis. More detailed information on CAP can be found on the Community Access Program website.
Please note that the first year subjects, Torts, Legal Method and Reasoning, Principles of Public Law, and Dispute Resolution are not usually available in the CAP Program. CAP students must satisfy any subject prerequisites and most Law subjects do have prerequisites.
Furthermore, there is no guarantee of selection into the LLB or combined LLB via CAP.
Overseas legal practitioners seeking admission to practise in Victoria are permitted to enrol on a Community Access Program basis in those subjects required by the Council of Legal Education.
Information about undergraduate and graduate subjects is available from the Manager, Undergraduate Studies (Law), and the Program Manager, Graduate Studies (Law), respectively. Overseas legal practitioners seeking admission to practise in Victoria are permitted to enrol on a Community Access Program basis in those subjects required by the Council of Legal Education.
