Albert Dinelli is a barrister at the Victorian Bar, where he practises in the areas of commercial law, constitutional law and administrative law.  At the University of Melbourne, Albert is a Senior Fellow in the Law School and has taught Constitutional Law and Dispute Management, and will, in 2009, teach Private International Law.

Before joining the Law School, Albert was Associate to the Honourable Murray Gleeson AC, the then Chief Justice of Australia. While in practice as a solicitor, he worked in the Dispute Resolution group at Mallesons Stephen Jaques in Melbourne. He completed his undergraduate law degree at Monash University before reading for a BCL and D.Phil at the University of Oxford as a Sir Robert Menzies Scholar.  His doctoral thesis was in the area of Private International Law and considered the effect of jurisdiction and choice of law agreements on international contractual relationships.

Albert’s research interests are in private international law, constitutional law, administrative law, the law of evidence and commercial law. He is the co-author of Handy Hints on Legal Practice (3rd ed).
