Objectives

By the end of this course, students should:

• understand the causes of wrongful convictions within the criminal justice systems of Australia, the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom;
• understand, more fully, the operation of the Victorian criminal justice system;
• have developed case file management skills;
• have developed teamwork skills;
• appreciate, more fully, the concepts of professional responsibility and legal professional privilege;
• appreciate the ethical elements of Innocence Project work;
• have learned to work under instructions from legal practitioners.
